Community Guidelines

Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") govern your use of our mobile application “Mithra” and its various versions, including the features and services offered through the app (collectively referred to as the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Bissibale Technologies Pvt Ltd ("Bissibale", "we", "us", or "our"), a private company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office located at [Insert your registered address here]. The terms "you" and "your" refer to users of the Platform.
These Guidelines are to be read in conjunction with Mithra’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (collectively referred to as the "Terms"). Any capitalized terms used but not defined in these Guidelines shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Terms.
Please note that we may update or revise these Guidelines from time to time, and we reserve the right to do so at our sole discretion. The most current version will always be available within the Platform and should be reviewed periodically.
Purpose of These Guidelines
Mithra is designed to connect users from across India and beyond in meaningful and positive ways. We aim to build a respectful, inclusive, and creative community where people can express themselves freely while feeling safe and supported.
However, as the Platform may be accessed by users of varying age groups, including young adults, it is essential that all users follow a shared set of expectations. These Guidelines ensure that all content and behavior on the Platform align with our community values and local laws, while fostering a secure and welcoming environment.
By using the Platform, you agree to abide by these Guidelines and understand that failure to do so may result in actions against your account, including removal of content, suspension, or termination.
Content Moderation and Enforcement
At Mithra, we are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and lawful environment. We actively remove content that violates our Community Guidelines or applicable Indian laws. If any content that breaches these rules comes to our attention, we may take steps including removing the content, restricting access to your account, or disabling features. If you encounter any material that violates these Guidelines, we strongly encourage you to report it.
While we value creative freedom, content intended to cause discomfort, spread hate or abuse, promote violence or illegal activities, deceive users, or harm the creator ecosystem will not be tolerated.
1. Compliance with Applicable Laws
All content uploaded, posted, commented upon, or shared on the Platform must comply with Indian laws, including but not limited to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and all applicable rules and regulations.
We cooperate with legal authorities in investigating and addressing violations. You must not post content that:
Threatens the unity, integrity, defense, security, or sovereignty of India.
Harms friendly relations with foreign states or public order.
Incites violence or criminal offenses.
Insults any other nation.
2. Nudity and Pornographic Content
We allow limited sexual imagery when presented for artistic, educational, documentary, awareness, or satirical purposes. However, the following is strictly prohibited:
Pornographic or obscene content, including explicit depictions of private parts or sexual acts.
Invasions of privacy, including unauthorized intimate images.
Revenge pornography, sextortion, or depiction of sexual fetishes intended to arouse.
Content involving bestiality or zoophilia.
Child exploitation or any form of child sexual abuse material.
Content promoting sexual violence, harassment, or objectification.
3. Harassment and Bullying
We strive to foster a Platform where users feel safe to express themselves without fear of harassment or bullying. Actions such as:
Abusive language, morphed images, or malicious recordings.
Discrimination based on gender, race, caste, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
Unwanted contact after being blocked.
Sharing personal information without consent with the intent to distress.
are strictly prohibited. Discussions around public figures may be permitted under critical commentary, subject to respectfulness.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
We protect the rights of creators. You must only post original content or content you have the rights to use. Strict action may be taken for violations.
If resharing content, proper credit and permissions are required. Unauthorized use of music or media will lead to content being muted or removed.
While "fair use" exceptions (criticism, parody, education) may apply, we encourage you to seek permission whenever possible.
5. Violence and Violent Content
We do not allow content that glorifies, promotes, or incites violence. Examples of prohibited content include:
Promotion of criminal or terrorist activities.
Instructions on making explosives or weapons.
Graphic depictions of physical violence or animal cruelty.
Content that educates, informs, or criticizes violence (such as news reports) may be permitted if handled sensitively.
5. Hate Speech and Hate Propaganda
Content that promotes hate, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on religion, race, caste, gender, disability, nationality, or sexual orientation is banned.
We do not allow:
Incitement of communal hatred or violence.
Insults toward religious symbols or deities.
Promotion of supremacist or hateful ideologies.
Content aiming to raise awareness or challenge hate thoughtfully may be allowed.
6. Abuse, Self-Injury, and Suicide
Content that encourages or depicts suicide, self-harm, or abuse is strictly prohibited.
We allow posts aimed at offering support, raising awareness, or sharing personal experiences to encourage healing — provided the intent is positive and respectful.
7. Illegal Activities
We have zero tolerance for:
Promotion of criminal activity, terrorism, or violence.
Sale or promotion of illegal or regulated goods, including drugs, weapons, or explosives.
Money laundering, gambling, trafficking, or solicitation of sexual services.
Impersonation or financial fraud.
Uploading malware or malicious software.
Content must not defame or misuse national symbols, including the Indian flag.
8. Non-Consensual Content and Privacy Violations
Posting or misusing someone else's personal information, images, or videos without consent is prohibited. This includes:
Doxxing (exposing personal data).
Sharing sensitive personal data (e.g., Aadhaar numbers, financial details).
Threatening to expose private information.
Respect the privacy and dignity of others at all times.
9. Spam and Misleading Content
Spam disrupts community trust and is not allowed. This includes:
Posting repetitive or misleading content for commercial gain.
Artificially inflating likes, shares, or followers.
Linking to malicious websites or phishing content.
Promotions must be honest, transparent, and not deceptive.
10. Misinformation and Manipulated Media
We do not allow misinformation or disinformation that could harm users or public safety, including:
False claims or fake news.
Deepfakes or manipulated media meant to deceive.
Content intended to incite fear, hatred, or violence through misinformation.
Satire and parody are permitted when clearly labeled and not designed to mislead.
COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
When using our Platform, we expect you to adhere to certain standards.
1. Stay Relevant
Mithra is a dynamic and active platform. Please ensure that any content you post and any discussions you join are relevant to the caption and tags associated with the post. Content that is off-topic, irrelevant, or unreasonable in the context of the post will be removed.
2. Multiple and Fake Profiles
Creating fake profiles of individuals or organizations (including government officials or entities) or impersonating others in a misleading or deceptive manner is strictly prohibited, whether or not it is intended to harass or bully. We do allow community, informational, and fan profiles of public figures, as well as satire and parody accounts — provided they clearly state their purpose in the profile description and do not intend to deceive or mislead other users.
3. Safety and Respect
We are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Harassment, abusive language, or any behavior that makes other users feel uncomfortable is prohibited. Any actions that create a hostile or unsafe environment for others will lead to enforcement measures.
4. Compliance with Laws
Ignorance of the law is not a defense for violations. As a user of our Platform, you are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations that govern online behavior. Content that promotes, encourages, or glorifies illegal activities is strictly prohibited.
5. Actions Against Violations
We take violations of these Guidelines seriously and reserve the right to take immediate action. Our enforcement decisions are final and binding. If your profile violates these Guidelines, we may restrict your access to your account. Attempts to evade these actions by creating alternate accounts, identities, or using another user's account will lead to stricter, long-term restrictions. Repeated violations may result in a permanent ban from registering on our Platform. We are committed to swiftly removing any content that violates these standards.
PLATFORM SECURITY
If you come across any content or activity that violates these Guidelines, please use the ‘Report’ option to notify us. We will review the report and, if the content or activity is found to be in violation, we will remove it and take appropriate action. However, you may encounter content you dislike that does not breach these Guidelines. In such cases, we encourage you to unfollow or block the user instead.
Intermediary Status and Content Review
We operate as an intermediary under applicable laws. This means we do not control what users post, comment, share, or express on the Platform, and we are not responsible for their (or your) actions, whether online or offline. Similarly, we are not accountable for services or features provided by third parties, even if you access them through our Platform. Our responsibilities and liabilities are strictly limited by the laws of India.
You are responsible for the content you post and engage with. If other users report your content for violating these Guidelines, we may review it and take appropriate enforcement actions.
